Mildred “Midge” K. Delaney, age 82, of Fall Branch, TN went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Lakebridge Community Nursing Center, following a long illness. Born in Jenkins, Kentucky, on March 3, 1942, the daughter of the late Garcia and Jannie Killen, she spent part of her youth in this area. She graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1960 and married David Delaney on April 20, 1963, in Bristol, TN. The Delaneys moved away for many years for Dave’s career, but Midge has resided in this area since 1996, when she and Dave returned from Rockville, MD. Midge will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, Grandmommy, sister, and friend who loved cooking, golf, bowling, crafts, and being with family above all else.
In addition to her parents, Midge is preceded in death by her husband, David W. Delaney Sr. (2020); son, David W. Delaney (2018); daughter, Kim Delaney (2017); and brothers, Ronnie, Bill, and Rocky.
She is survived by her brother, David Killen (Brenda), of Johnson City, TN; son, Mark Delaney (Ruth Goldberg) of Odenton, MD; granddaughter, Cheyenne Costello Delaney of Fall Branch, TN; sister-in-law Deborah Killen, of Jonesborough, TN; as well as her many, beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch, TN.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Lakebridge Community Nursing Center and to Charlene Depew for her loving care.
