Mildred Pendleton

Mildred Pendleton, of Kingsport, born April 27, 1923, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 14, 2011 at Signature Health Care in Rogersville just before her 88th birthday.

Ms. Pendleton resided at Kiwanis Towers previous to moving to Rogersville and was a resident of Kingsport most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Pendleton; parents, William and Minerva Beer; sister Mable Ford and two brothers, Walter and William Spangle.

Survivors include her daughter Jo Anne Bailey and husband, Ricky of Erwin, TN; sons James Howard Bowen of Tallahassee, FL, David Thomas Bowen and wife, Sherry of Rogersville, TN; six grandchildren, John David Bowen, Kelli Galthaus, Christopher Lee Addington, Pamela Ann Addington, Brandon Price, Samantha Shults; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral home, Kingsport. The service will begin at 8 pm. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at Holston View Cemetery.
