Mildred Unav Rector

Mildred Rector, 93, of Kingsport, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Sullivan County, where she resided most of her life, she was a homemaker and an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Rector; son, Bobby Rector; grandson, Johnny Roach; and brother, Billy Shipley.

Mildred is survived by daughters, Shelby Jean Hawk of Kingsport, Lois Johnson and husband, Louie of Williamsport, PA, Janice Marie Rector of Kingsport, Cathy Rector of Greeneville and Betty Hart and husband, William of Church Hill; sons, Pete Cowden and wife, Rose of Macon, GA, Joe Rector of Kingsport and Kyle Rector and wife, Betty of Kingsport; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Shipley and wife, Elaine of Montgomery, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 4th from 1-2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Raymond Hammonds officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Fink Cemetery in Kingsport.

Pallbearers will be Paul Robinson, Chad Powell, Robert Rector, Paul Rector, Jeremy Rector and Donald Rector.
