Mildred was born in Appalachia, VA on April 18, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Ida Mae Still. When the children reached school age, she worked part-time substitute teaching and at the Palmer Memorial Center, eventually becoming its Director. She was very proud of the progress made by children attending Palmer Center. Mildred loved and was loved by her family and friends. Midge was special.
