Mildred T. Wampler, 94, formerly of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Taylors Valley, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, William E. (Gene) Wampler; parents, Alice Hash and Roby F. Thompson; brothers, Ed Thompson and Roby Thompson, Jr.; and sisters, Winona Hall and Peggy Kohari.
Mrs. Wampler is survived by daughter, Carol (Harold) Vaughan; son, Barry (Nancy) Wampler; sister, Margaret T. Schroeder; grandchildren, Michael (Carla) Vaughan, Tricia (Mike) Bassow, Karin (Darryl) Head, and Julie (Greg) Gerardi; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 28 from 11-12 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A Celebration of Life will follow at noon. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
