Minnie Ruth Mullins Rice

Minnie Ruth Mullins Rice, age 75, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 23, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness. Born in Dungannon, VA on May 17, 1938, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Potts, she had resided in this area since 1985, moving from North Carolina. She was a member of the Miraculous Church and a former health care nurse. Minnie will be remembered as a very loving mom, grandma, sister and friend who loved going to church and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy Potts, Floyd Potts and Johnny Potts; daughter, Nancy Ann Perry; granddaughter, Angela Nicole Perry; and great-great-grandson, Justin William Perry.

Minnie is survived by her children, Bobby Ray Mullins of Kingsport, TN, Christine Brinkley and husband, James of Kingsport, TN, and David Mullins and wife, Bess of Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Rachel France and daughter, Erin Holden, Michael Perry, Miles Chandler Mullins, Marilyn Mullins, Kelly Mullins, Brian Mullins, Kim, Katina and Chassidy Fields, Shawn Perry, and other grandchildren; great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Kate Kaywood, Robert Potts, Kyle Potts, and Lester Potts, all of Kingsport, and Maybell Potts of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with Dr. Steve Hooper and Pastor Donny Pangle officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Prayer Team from the Miraculous/Restoration Church.
