Mona "Mamaw" Penley

Mona "Mamaw" Penley, 92, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Born in Greene County, she had resided most of her life in Fall Branch. She was a Charter Member of Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tip Penley; son, Howard Penley; two grandsons, Scott Compton and Ricky Greer.

She is survived by 4 daughters: Odie Branch and husband, Merle, Knoxville, Shirley Lunsford and husband, Bill, Knoxville, Blue Penley Taylor and husband, Larry, Fall Branch, Jenny Morelock, Rogersville; son, Dennis Penley and wife, Wilma, Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Linda Penley, Kingsport; adopted grandson, Carl Penley, Fall Branch; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 22, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Bro. Dan Dolen and Rev. Ron Scarbro officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
