Monnie Neeley Bledsoe, 84, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Monday, July 14, 2008, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Scott County, Virginia, she had resided in Kingsport since 1959. Mrs. Bledsoe was a homemaker and a member of Rollers Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Duffield, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertie Neeley.
Surviving are her husband of 67 ½ years, William Grady Bledsoe Sr. of Kingsport; two daughters, Lois Jerelene Persinger and husband Larry of Kingsport, Betty Edmonds of Kingsport; one son, William Grady Bledsoe Jr. and wife Sue of Warren, Ohio; five grandchildren, Alisé Edmonds, Robert Edmonds Jr., Lori Bledsoe, Brent Bledsoe, and Susie Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Daniel, Kim and Heather; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Elder Greg Hill and Elder Oscar Irvin officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Rollers Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
