Monnie Rogers, 89, Kingsport, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation-Hillside.
A native of Wise County, Virginia, she had resided in Kingsport since 1948. Mrs. Rogers was Co-Owner and Operator of Roger's Grocery in the West View Community. She attended Cedar View Independent Methodist Church.
Her husband, Estil Rogers preceded her in death in 1980.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Fields and husband Jim of Kingsport, Freda Ann Miller and husband Paul of Kingsport; four granddaughters, Robin René Dillsworth and husband David, Fredonna Lynne McClellan and husband Eddie, Kimberla Kaye Stewart and husband Ronnie, and Katina Fay Ferguson and husband Mark; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Bowers of Candor, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Hattie Rogers of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Cedar View Independent Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the church with Dr. Jim Fields and Rev. David Dillsworth officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
