Monnie Smith

Monnie Smith, ?Mammaw Smith?, 93, of Kingsport, went home to be with Jesus early Monday morning, December 27, 2010, following an extended illness. Monnie had resided in Kingsport for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joe Smith, and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Karen Rines and husband, Ronnie, Tonya and Pete Vermillion, and Johnny and Shanda Smith; her great-grandchildren, Brittany and Summer, Houston and Austin, Dylan, Jacob, and Sierra; a great-great-grandson, Bradly; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Amy Hughes.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Wyndell Sydebothon and Rev. Pete Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Memorial gifts may be given to the family to assist in Monnie?s funeral expenses.
