Myrtle Peavler DeBusk, 88, Kingsport went to her Heavenly home Saturday, March 24, 2007 after a long, happy, and blessed life.
Mrs. DeBusk retired after 40 years service from Kingsport Press.
She was on the Cradle Roll of Mountain View United Methodist Church and attended Rock Heritage Baptist Church. Mrs. DeBusk was a long standing member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Even though she did not have children of her own, Mrs. DeBusk was like a mother to all of her family.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Otis Abner DeBusk; parents, Walter and Zura Peavler; sister, Edith Sullins; and brother, John Peavler Sr.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Laura Peavler, Penny Roller, Peggy Woods, Sally Morelock and husband, Charlie, all of Kingsport, John Peavler, Jr. and wife, Charlotte of Gray; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Garry Eads officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Alex Woods, Eric Woods, Justin Peavler, Jason Morelock, Charlie Morelock, George Hughes, and Chad Holloway.
