Myrtle McVey Allison, 100, Blountville, TN, went to be with the Lord Wednesday evening, February 28, 2018 at her home. Myrtle was born in Meadowview, Virginia and lived in Bristol before moving to the Blountville area. She retired after 35 years of employment and was a member of Charity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil W. Allison; son, David Henry Allison; 3 sisters; and 6 brothers.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Anne Alvis of Blountville, TN; two sons, Bill Allison and wife, Connie Ann of Gray, TN, and Gene Allison and wife, Sharon of Kingsport; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12-3:00 pm on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Charles Brooks, Rev. Bobby Kitt and Bill Allison officiating.
The graveside service will be held in Mountain Home National Cemetery on Monday at 1:45 p.m. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice.
