Myrtle Musick Tate passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Appalachian Christian Village. She was born in Russell County, Virginia and worked for JC Penney in Kingsport and Johnson City. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church but had been attending Blessed Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Tate; five sisters, Lillian Horton, Hattie Mae Musick, Eula Musick, Hazel Beck and Carolyn Salyer; five brothers, Guy Musick, Dan Musick, Dallas Musick, Clyde Musick and infant brother.
Myrtle is survived by three daughters, Levita Bussell of Johnson City, Peggy Wells and husband, Bill of Kingsport and Betty Martin of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Tim Bussell, Yvette Chase, Crystal Wells Lloyd and Scott Self; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Madge Herndon of Kingsport; brother, Carol Musick and wife, Shirley of Bristol; several nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 15th from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Stanley Sims officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 10:00 am at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
