Nancy (Agnes) Johnson Brooks

Nancy (Agnes) Johnson Brooks, 93, of Kingsport, took the hand of Jesus Saturday, August 4, 2018, and received her crown of righteousness, as he said, "Well done thy good and faithful servant come on in. Praise God." She was a member of Agape Life Christian Fellowship for years. She was born in Roda, Virginia, on March 6, 1925, to Clint and Verbenna Klineik Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Brooks in 1999; her parents, Clint and Verbenna Klineik Johnson; brothers, Elmer Johnson, Unga Johnson, Elvie Johnson, Bill Johnson, Manuel Johnson, and Raymond Johnson; granddaughter, Amy Renee Mathes; and son-in-law, Gary Collins.

She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Riddle and husband Michael of Kingsport, Patricia Collins of Church Hill, Joan Tolley and husband Joe of Elizabethton, and Naomi Rubley and husband Bob of Piney Flats; two sons, Jonathan Brooks and wife Debbie of Church Hill, and Ricky Brooks of Rogersville; sister, Edith Larkin of Kingsport; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Joyce McMurray.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Minister Terry Whitson officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in the Garden of Everlasting Life.

Pallbearers will be Josh Brooks, Jeff Hall, Tyler Hall, Justin Hall, Robert Rubley, and Joe Dixon.

If I don't see you anymore in this life, I will see you around the throne of God. She is there.
