Nancy Nard Anderson

Nancy Nard Anderson, 74, of Kingsport, TN, died peacefully Wednesday night, July 6, 2011, surrounded by her family at her son's home. Born in Norton, VA, she had resided in Kingsport since 1960. Nancy had worked as a self-employed beautician for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and was affectionally known as "Gran-Gran".

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Dominic and Florence "Nanny" Nard; one sister, Dorothy Jean Duckworth; son, Sammy Gibson; daughter, Connie Anderson; twin grandsons, Adam and Brandon Gibson.

She is survived by daughter Dorothy Lynn Porter and husband Gene of Winnabow, NC; son Nard Gibson and wife Donna; ten grandchildren, Talena Hale, Randy Hale, Genna Porter, Berry Porter, Lil' Nard Gibson, Sara Molen, Dillon Gibson, Christy Thomas, Rebecca Anderson, Jonathan Bullock; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Wallace Nard and wife Josette of Chicago, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dale M. Gilbert officiating with graveside services following at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lil' Nard Gibson, Dillon Gibson, Berry Porter, Jonathan Bullock, Gene Porter, David Duckworth, Alan Price, and Lynn McCoig.
