KINGSPORT -- Nancy Janie Cowden Ramey, 81, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, November 10, 2009.
She was a member of Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Ramey; a sister, Verna Mae Cowden; two brothers, Jess Cowden and Burchel Cowden; a half-sister, Pearl Cowden; and a half-brother, Robert Cowden.
Survivors include her daughter, Bessie Ramey Caldwell, of Church Hill; three sons, Kenneth "Bud" Ramey and wife Tina, of Gate City, VA, Anthony Ramey and wife Tammy, of Rogersville, and Christopher Scott Ramey and wife Allison, of Kingsport; six grandchildren, Justin, Catessia, Jessica, Whitney, Brandy, and Anthony Paul; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Becky Spurlock, of Norton, VA; daughter-in-law, Janie Ramey; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 ? 8 p.m. on Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m., with Rev. Clarence Necessary and Elder Everett Lett officiating.
A graveside committal service will be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Ramey, Catessia Ramey, Joshua Lovell, Jessica Lovell, Justin Ramey, and Anthony Paul Ramey.
