Neida Hammonds, 66, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Kingsport where she had lived her entire life. Neida retired from Rental Uniform after more than 25 years of service and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Her father, W. R. Cook, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Isaac Hammonds, Kingsport; one daughter, Robin Renee Harris and husband, David, Kingsport; her mother, Ibbie Cook, Kingsport; two sisters, Una McConnell and husband, Frank, Tallahassee, FL, Carolyn Greer, Kingsport; one brother, Charles ?Chuck? Cook, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church with Pastor Wayne Baker and Rev. David Harris officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be N. R. Canipe, Larry Coomer, J. C. Martin, Chris Ball, Paul Belcher, and Johnny Gordon.
