Nell Elizabeth Byington, 83, of 1295 Lovelace Drive, Fall Branch, Tennessee, departed this life Thursday, March 15, 2007, at 9:15 p.m.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert A. D. Byington; two daughters, Doris Jean Byington and Elsie Louise Bellamy; a grandson, Joey Stewart; her parents, J. C. and Agnes Roberts; seven brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Opal Williams and her spouse, Earl, of Fall Branch, Ruby Stewart and her companion, June Collins of Greeneville, TN; two sons, Rev. James F. Byington and wife, Judy, of Kingsport, Mitchell Byington and wife, Oria, of Fall Branch; fourteen grandchildren, Margaret and Duane Souder, Rising Sun, Maryland, Rev. Chad E. and Missy Byington, Kingsport, Tammy and Jamie Pendleton, Gray, TN, Vicky and Larry Penley, Greeneville, TN, Glenn Stewart, Kingsport, Julie and Stuart Lawson, Kingsport, Sheri Stewart of Nashville, TN, Marty and Dawnena Byington, Kingsport, Jamie and Teresa Byington of Fall Branch, Misty Byington, Kingsport, Nickie Copas, Greeneville, Nikki Roark, Fall Branch, and Regina Roark and companion, Michael Robinson, Kingsport; 23 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Roberts and wife, Mary Jane of Chuckey. She leaves a special friend and caregiver, Bonnie Roark; and a host of nieces and nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17th. Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Chad Byington and Rev. Jim Mullins officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18th, at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
