Nellie Louise Christian Redmond Booker, 73, Kingsport, passed away Sunday September 16, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Big Stone Gap, VA, but lived most of her life in Kingsport.
Nellie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and daughter. She attended church at Way of Life Baptist Church. She retired from Wright?s Cafeteria.
She was truly loved by her family and will be terribly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Guy Christian; sister, JoAnn Christian; paternal grandparents, London and Odie Christian; maternal grandparents, Jack and Leathea Belle Tate; and step-son, Brian Booker.
Surviving are her husband, Cline Booker, Kingsport; daughter, Kim Lampkins and husband, Raymond, Kingsport; sons, Foy Redmond and wife, Dee, Hampton, TN, and Randy Redmond and wife, Sharon, Kingsport; step-children, Dawn Booker and Steve Booker, IL; six grandchildren, Katina Yates and husband, Gary, Brooke Harrison and husband, Brad, Shelley McKee and husband, Brad, Thomas Redmond, Jessica Redmond, and Shyan Redmond; eight great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; mother, Bessie Christian; sisters, Marie Cox and Shirley Marshall, both of Kingsport; brothers, Wayne Christian and Terry Christian, both of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Gibson, Rev. Billy Gragg, and Rev. Wayne Baker officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Brad Harrison, Paul Byington, Tony Marshall, Tony Freeman, Cody Price, and Chad Christian.
