Neva E. Gass, 94, of Kingsport passed away Saturday, October 15th at Johnson City Medical Center. She resided in the Baileyton area until moving to Kingsport in the early 60's where she was employed at the Kingsport Press for more than 30 years. Neva and her sister attended Sunday services at First Baptist Church in Kingsport.
Neva was preceded in death by: sisters Joda Gass and Glenna Morrison; brothers Clarence, Willard, and Kay Gass and beloved great-nephew Brent Slaughter. She is survived by: her sister Della Zweigle of Dayton, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and her devoted family Marilyn Slaughter and husband Johnnie, Chantele Adams and Kasha Slaughter.
She enjoyed involvement in the activities of her sister's grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 25th from 5:30-7:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Kingsport. Services will follow at 7pm with the Rev. Todd Adams officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 26th at 11am at Monte Vista Burial Park in Johnson City. The family will meet at Hamlett-Dobson in Kingsport at 10:00 am. Pallbearers will be: Kagan Adams, Alan Cox, Tom Cox, Loren Goodman, Johnnie Slaughter, and Jerry Ward.
