Newt Spence Jr

Herman "Newt" Newton Spence, Jr., 75, of Kingsport, passed September 22, 2015 at Asbury Place following an extended illness. Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Herman Newton, Sr. and Doris Spence.

Newt is survived by his children, Annette Spence of Knoxville, Herman Spence, III and wife, Jean of Dallas, GA, and Allen Spence and wife, Amy of Durham, NC; 6 grandchildren, Spence Bender, Lowry Bender, Ann Spence, Lee Spence, Austin Spence and Addison Spence; 2 sisters, Susan Blumberg, and Nancy Kock and husband, Ron; and special friend, Phyllis Cannon.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 pm at Shades of Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Shewey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
