Nina Parks Barker

Nina Parks Barker, 98, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016. She was a member of Willow Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Aiken and Martha Aiken Maddux; step-father, Edward Maddux; infant brother; and her two sons, Charles Parks, Jr. and Gary Parks.

Nina is survived by her two daughters, Joan Smith and husband, Carl of Kingsport, and Bobbie Carter and husband, Ron of High Point, NC; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Holston View Cemetery in Weber City, VA with Elder Frank Gilliam officiating. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport at 3:00 pm to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Carter and Chris Smith.

The family would also like to thank the workers of Church Hill Health Care Center and Caris Healthcare for all the wonderful love and care she received during her time there.
