Nora Lee Cavin Hunt, 84, Rock Springs Road, went to be with the Lord at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Hawkins County, but had resided in Kingsport most of her life. Nora attended Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John Alvin Hunt, Sr. on June 17, 1986; her parents, Rosa Bell and Claude Cavin; two brothers, Johnny and Clyde Cavin; and one sister, Gladys Cowden.
Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis Carter and husband, Kenny, Kingsport; one son, John Alvin Hunt and wife, Charlotte, Kingsport; four grandchildren, Jim Carter and wife, Glenda, Ava Carter, Robby Hunt and wife, Kim, Nathan Hunt and wife, Susan; two great-grandchildren, Abby and Adam Hunt, all of Kingsport; a step-great-grandson, Andy Kidd of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Todd A. Jennings officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will Jim Carter, Robby Hunt, Nathan Hunt, Andy Kidd, and Doyle Hunt.
