Norma Andrews

Norma Jean Andrews, 78, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Blount County, TN she had resided in Kingsport since 1996. She retired from Walgreens as a pharmacy technician after many years of service. Norma was a Baptist. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandson, Harris Parker. She was an avid cat lover.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret Lawhorn, and two sisters, Virginia Shepherd and Mary Davis.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Janet Crawford and husband, Nyles of the home; son, Jerry Simpson and wife, Sabra of Knoxville; grandson, Harris Parker, South Carolina; step-mother, Estelle Cornett of Indiana; two sisters, Ruby Roberts of Indiana and Beth Kiser of New Hampshire; two brothers, Jimmy Lawhorn of Greenback, TN and Oliver Lawhorn of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm with Brother Jimmy Lawhorn officiating.
