Norma E. Ellis

Norma E. Ellis, 88, of Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 after an extended illness. She was born on January 24, 1932 in Vallscreek, West Virginia to the late William and Alma Altizer.

Before returning to Kingsport in 2005, Norma spent 25 years in Indian Shores Beach, Florida where she owned her own business for 19 years.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her first husband of 30 years, Jesse J. Cummins; her second husband of 21 years, James P. Ellis; one sister, Toni Luna; and three brothers, William Altizer, Donald Altizer, and Clyde Altizer.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Sue Cummins McCoy and husband William of Kingsport; 2 granddaughters, Kelly Lowe and husband David of Johnson City, and Karen Honeycutt of Knoxville; 2 great-granddaughters, Ansley and Reagan Honeycutt of Knoxville; and 3 sisters, Dorothy Bear of Kingsport, Naomi Crawford of Kingsport, and Lillian Smith of Weber City, VA.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.  A funeral service will follow at 4:15 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
