Norma Light-Moorehouse, 83, of Kingsport, died Friday, September 27, 2013 at Welmont - Holston Valley Medical Center.
She loved cooking and making crafts, which several of her ornaments were on the White House Christmas tree during the Kennedy administration. Norma also loved her dog and cat. Norma was a beautician and worked many years at Wise County Vocational Technical School.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Moorehouse, mother Mary Collier, father William Burton Light, and sister Louise Minor.
She is survived by her brother J.R. Light and wife Wilma, of Big Stone Gap, VA; two nieces, Betsy Wells and husband Hershel, of Wise, VA and Barbara Staton and husband Lee, of Louisville, KY; special nephew, Cody Gilley, of Johnson City, TN; special niece and friend, Anita Skeens, of Kingsport, TN.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1st, from 10 - 11 am at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor J. W. Depew officiating. Graveside services will follow the funeral at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a charity of one's choice.
