Norma Ruth Sexton

Norma Ruth Sexton, 73, of 396 West Valley Drive, Lot 8, Kingsport, went to be with her family on Tuesday, March 20, 2007.

Born in Kingsport, where she lived her entire life, Norma Ruth was a member of Long Island Evangelical Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Clarence Sexton; son, Kenneth Lee Jones; a grandson, John Houston Sexton; father, Stonewall Jackson Jones; mother, Lucy Pearl Jones; sister, Mary Ellen Jones; and brothers, Sherrill Jackson Jones, Richard Edward Jones, Herbert Hoover Jones, Fred Wayne Jones, and Shannon Jones.

Surviving are one daughter, Carolyn ?Chris? Gentry and husband, Jody of Surgoinsville; two sons, Joseph Lynn Sexton and Rhonda Matthews of Kingsport, and Randall Scott Sexton, Pikeville, TN; seven grandchildren, Scotty Williams and wife, Renée, Sam Williams, Ashley Sexton and Ray Hicks, Joseph ?Bo? Sexton and wife, Morgan, Justin Sexton, Amber Sexton, and Cody Roark; three great-grandchildren, Afaya ?Lexi? Sexton, Brandon Hicks, and Braelyn Sexton; two sisters, Carolyn English and husband, Jerry, Joann Riner and husband, Rev. J. C. Riner; one brother, Ferrell Jones and wife, Patty all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Hodges officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
