Norma Clyce Fish Steadman, 91, passed away August 28, 2012 after a brief illness.
She was born August 8, 1921, in Kingsport, where she resided her entire life. Norma married Thomas K. Steadman, April 13, 1940, and was a homemaker. She was active in Home Demonstration and Garden Clubs. She loved raising flowers and tomatoes. Her hobbies were sewing and reading.
She was a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas K. Steadman; parents, Alvin and Blannie Hunt Fish; and brother, Malcolm Fish.
She is Survived by three daughters; Judy Ted Franklin; Brenda Don Hickman, both of Kingsport; and, Karen Dietrich of Medina, Ohio; one son, Pat Brenda Kay of Statesboro, Georgia; 11 grandchildren, Vickie Gilmer, Sherry Scott Tipton, Teddy Angel Franklin, Eric Misti Franklin, Duane Stacey Hickman, Donna David Bryant, Casey Steadman, Dr. Brent Courtney Steadman, Jeremy Moats; Jennifer Scott Maulding, Hank Sarah Moats; 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 31, 2012, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson of Kingsport. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dale Gilbert and Rev. Steve Tilley officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, with Rev. Dale Gilbert. Judy Franklin and Brenda Hickman will receive friends at their homes at any time.
The family would like to thank the hospice nurses and two special caregivers, Susan and Mary Ann.
