Norman "Butch" Eugene Maddox

Norman “Butch” Eugene Maddox, 72, passed away at his home on October 16, 2019.  He was born May 25, 1947 in Imboden, Virginia to the late Emmitt and Lilly Miller Maddox and had lived in Kingsport, TN all of his life.  He retired from General Shale Brick after almost 40 years of service. Butch had a love for baseball and fishing. He had his own softball team and also played for many local teams as a pitcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Roy and Marie Maddox, and Sam and Lula Miller; and brother-in-law, Wayne Fuller.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Maddox; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Melissa Maddox; grandsons, Kaleb Maddox and Sage Quillen; sisters, Mable Fuller, Denise Perry and husband, Bill; brothers, Carl “June” Maddox, Dennis and wife, Linda Maddox, and David Maddox; sister-in-law, Patty Jones and husband, Ferrell; brothers-in-law, Elmer and wife, Yvonne Collins, and David and wife, Teresa Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and at other hours at the residence.
