Norman Wayne Wilson, Jr., 53, of Kingsport, departed this life to be with the Lord, August 7, 2019 at his residence. Born in Scranton, PA on November 5, 1965, a son of Norman, Sr. and Sandra “Sandy” Wilson; he had resided in this area most of his life. He graduated from Sullivan North High School in 1983. Norman was a veteran of the United States Marines, having served in the Gulf War and Army Reserves. Norman was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend who loved the Lord, Oakland Raiders Football, NASCAR, he was a dirt track racer and loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents along with several aunts and uncles.
Norman is survived by his parents, Norman and Sandra Wilson, Sr. of Kingsport; brothers, Scott Wilson and wife Davina, of Kingsport; Brad Wilson and wife Kimberly, of Bristol; several nieces and nephews; two great nephews and one great niece.
Norman would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for saving his life, and he would also like to thank his mom and dad for helping him as he became disabled serving our country.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30m Thursday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Richard Pike officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by The American Legion, Hammond Post #3 and Gate City Post #265. Those attending graveside services are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:15pm Thursday.
Brad Wilson, Scott Wilson and others will serve as pallbearers.
