Norman Wayne Wilson, Sr., 82, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Norman was born and raised in Kingsport, along with several other siblings. After attending Lynn View High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for three years, where he met the love of his life, in Tobyhanna, PA. After moving back to Kingsport, he worked a long career with Fluor-Daniels, eventually retiring as a supervisor. Norman enjoyed hiking the Appalachian Trail, fishing, was a big golfer, loved riding motorcycles, traveling and meeting new people, volunteering at Red Cross, restoring old guns, and in later years, woodworking, making canes. He loved his family and his country deeply and will be missed by all who knew him.
Norman was preceded in death by his son, Norman Wilson, Jr., parents, Charles and Ellen Wilson; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sandy Wilson; sons, Scott Wilson, Brad Wilson and wife, Kimberly; grandchildren, Cassandra Butts (Donna), Cyerah Wilson, Liam Wilson, Chelsea Holmes, Camille Linerode (Ben), Robert Carvalho; great-grandchildren, Avery Linerode, Mason Brown, Ebin Brown, and Ona Brown; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family.
The family would like to extend special thanks to his personal caregivers, Four Oaks and Gentiva Hospice.
Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery, with Military Honors by the American Legion Posts 3/265.
