Odell Edna Mowell

Odell Edna Mowell, 73, Kingsport, TN, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Odell was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church.

Her parents, Rev. Gilbert Morelock Sr., and Bertha Morelock, infant son, Kirk Mowell, son, Johnny Mowell, brother, Gilbert Morelock Jr., infant sister Ora Morelock, niece, Becky Bacon, and nephew Steve Duncan preceded her in death.

Surviving Odell is her husband of 53 years, Roy Mowell; son, Joel Mowell and wife Ginny; her daughters, Tami Fields and husband Michael and Joni Sexton; grandchildren, Stephanie Carter-Shepherd, Ethan Sexton, great-grandson, Hunter Shepherd; sister, Novella Duncan and husband Harold; nieces, Robin Fields and husband Rick; Vicki Hutchins and husband Glenn; nephew, Brian Morelock and wife Janie; and great-nephew, Tyler Winstead.

Calling hours are 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Morelock, Rev. Pete Smith and honorary minister, Rev. Orville Dolen.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at East Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church, 3711 Beech Creek Road, Rogersville, TN 37857-5740.
