O'Dell Robinson, 82, of 125 Copas Road, Kingsport, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was a Christian from a young age and loved the Lord.
"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4.
O'Dell was a loving husband to his wife, Margie, for 60 years. He was also a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by two sons: Richard Allen Ferguson and Steven Anthony Robinson; his mother, Mary Copas; three brothers and two sisters.
O'Dell is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margie Robinson of the home; daughter, Carolyn Armolt and husband, Bud of Knoxville; three sons, Terry "Butch" Robinson and wife, Tammy of Gray, David Robinson of Greeneville, and Rick Ferguson and wife, Kathy of Kingsport. O'Dell was blessed with ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will begin at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. George Winegar and Rev. Jerry Davenport officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Chris Robinson, Ricky Crawford, Brian Crawford, Devin Robinson, Jason Lee, Skyler Melton, Alton Crawford, Jamie Painter, Shawn Randolph, Matt Randolph, and Honorary Pallbearer Larry Rines.
The family would like to send out their heart felt appreciation to our families and friends, who have been there to support us through this difficult time. Thank you for the prayers, food, fellowship, memories, and smiles. And a very special thank you to O'Dell's buddy, Debbie Robinson.
