Onnie Lee Chase, 91, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 after a brief illness, with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born June 20, 1933. Onnie was in the carpet business for many years, retiring in 1995. He was a faithful member of West Colonial Hills Baptist Church, serving as senior adult leader, along with his wife. Onnie loved hunting and fishing with his long-time friend, Ranny Troxell. He enjoyed going to the beach, spending time with his wife and special friends.
Onnie was preceded in death by his parents, Haskel Lee and Cora Wheelock Chase; and brother, J.D. Chase.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Charlotte; brothers, Leonard and Dennis Chase; nephews, Les, Steve (Sharon) and Brian Chase, Todd (Mary), Tim (Tiffany) and Travis (Susie) Salyers; sisters-in-law, Wanda (James) Salyers and Anna Ruth Wells; great nieces, Elizabeth (Andrew) Perkins, Macie Salyers; great-nephew, Lucas Salyers; and many cousins and special friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Amedisys for their kind concern and help in Onnie’s last days; also church family and many special friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 9:00am – 10:15am at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Graveside services will follow immediately at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Paul Sheaffer officiating and music by nephews, Salyers Family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 1205 Kendrick Creek Rd., Kingsport, TN 37663.
