Opal Mae Workman Ball was born January 14, 1924, in Johnson City, TN, and passed away on Monday night, November 16, 2009, at Indian Path Medical Center. She was a former resident of Fall Branch from the late 1947 until moving to Preston Place in Kingsport in 2000. Mrs. Ball was a homemaker. She was a faithful member and pre-school Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Ball in 1991.

Surviving are sister, Nancy Swarts and husband Jim, of Bonita Springs, FL; sister-in-law, Margaret Ball, of Fall Branch; nephew Ken Ball and wife Peggy, of Asheville, NC; niece, Libby Depew and husband Mike, of Fall Branch; great-nephew Heath Depew; great-niece, Rhonda Quade and husband Bill; and a great-great-nephew Jacob Quade.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20th, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Fall Branch, with Rev. Carl Strickler and Rev. Victor Wallace officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the Memorial Service at the church.

Pallbearers will be deacons of the First Baptist Church of Fall Branch.
