Opal Mildred Farmer, 70, went to be home with her Lord and Savior Saturday, September 11, 2010.
She was a Saint and Prayer Warrior of Tri-City Apostolic Church. Opal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend to all and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kyle and Myrtle Henry; brothers; Bill Henry, Rev. Eugene Henry, Elyan Henry, and Joe Henry; and sister; Madeline Eads.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Billy Farmer; one sister, Helen Phillips and one brother, Billy Henry both of Kingsport; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Billy and Trish Farmer, Kingsport; Larry and Teresa Farmer, Johnson City; Gary and Penny Farmer, Gray; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Wayne Hall, Kingsport; eight grandchildren, Bobby Hall, Brandon Hall, Gary Farmer, Donna Farmer, Lynsey Farmer, Heather Farmer, Charity Brickey, and Christopher O'Brien; and three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Rylea and Kaylee O'Brien.
Calling hours are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or anytime at the home of Gary and Penny Farmer, 117 Hicks Drive, Gray TN.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 7 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Fred Greer and Rev. Mack Greer officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14 at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Grandchildren and friends will serve as pallbearers.
