Orville C. Big "O" Bowman

Orville C. Bowman, 77, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at his home. He joined the US Navy and served for 6 years, 7 months and 23 days and received the Good Conduct National Defense Medal. For 48 years he worked as an OTR Truck Drive for AJ Mather-A&M Express and Heartland Express. Orville was a lifetime member of the VVA and DAV and was a member of the American Legion for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Dolly Dianna Bowman.

Orville is survived by his children, Cristal Agreste and husband, Jay, Stori Mulligan; Dianna Weaver and husband, Charles, Penny Cagle and husband, Charley, and Mary J. Hill and husband Berry; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A special thanks to granddaughter-in-law, Amber Bryson for the special care she showed to Orville.

The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Ellis Robertson and Pastor Preston Patrick officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Friday at 10:45 am at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts 3/265.
