Orville M. Overbay, 84, passed away at Franklin Square Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, Monday, February 19, 2007.
He was born in Kingsport, having moved to Baltimore in 1951. Mr. Overbay was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Maryland Department of Corrections.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Thelma Overbay; one brother, Dan Overbay; and one sister, Dorothy Overbay.
Surviving are one stepson, Charles McClellan, Sr. and wife, Rosemary, Baltimore, MD; one grandson, Charles McClellan, Jr. and wife, Angela; one great-grandson, Bryce Taylor; and one brother, Melvin G. Overbay and wife, Carol, Kansas City, MO.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jack Weikel officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military rites conducted by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
