Ova Lola Wallen, 90, formerly a resident at Kingsport Senior House, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2007, at Brookhaven Manor, Aventa Hospice Care.
She was a member of Willis Chapel Primitive Baptist Church at Kyles Ford, Tennessee. Mrs. Wallen was a loving and caring person to all who knew her. She was an antique dealer for many years at Haggle Shop and also enjoyed making cushions and giving them to her friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Lon Wallen; an infant son, Ermal Wallen; her parents, Null and Pearl Wallen; sisters, Bonnie Hurd and Venus Lawson; and brothers, Jack, Guy, and Mitchell Wallen.
Surviving are a son, Onzie Wallen and wife, Carolyn; a grandson, André Wallen and wife, Tammy; great-granddaughters, Morgan and Brooke Wallen; sisters, Wanda Jean Osborne and husband, Junior, Ann Addington, and Mary Ruth Roller; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or any time at the home of Onzie and Carolyn Wallen.
Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Elder John Arnott and Elder Walter Willis officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Family members and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. to go in procession.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
