Paschal "Pat" King, Sr., 85, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness, He was a WWII veteran, having served with the U. S. Army. Mr. King was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church, St. John's Masonic Lodge #332 F & AM, Jackson, TN, and had retired from Rayovac.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Teresa King, and one sister, Myra Roe.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline "Polly" King, of Kingsport; a son, Rev. Paschal "Pat" King, Jr., of Oak Hill, Ohio; two nieces, and a nephew.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. A Masonic service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by Kingsport Masonic Lodge #688 F & AM. Funeral services will follow, with Rev. Ralph Kidd officiating.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Hammond Posts 3 & 265 Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Crosby, Thom Crosby, Lyle Crosby, Charles Crosby, James Huckabee, and Michael Griffith.
