Patricia McBath Conrad

Patricia McBath Conrad, recently of Knoxville, TN, longtime resident of Kingsport, TN, passed away suddenly on September 1, 2017 at age 80 after heroically dealing with various medical challenges for more than thirteen years, the day after what would have been her 60th anniversary of her wedding.

She began her teaching career with Sunday School and Pre-school at the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church for five years prior to Tennessee's inclusion of kindergarten into the public school system. She then began teaching in Sullivan County Schools starting at Miller Perry Elementary before a five year gap when she taught at The American School in London (London, England), Rochester Psychiatric School (Rochester, NY), and then returning to Sullivan County Schools teaching at Valley Pike Elementary, Sullivan Elementary, after which time she accepted a position in the Kingsport City Schools at West View Elementary which later became Roosevelt Elementary from which she retired in 1998. ). She was a proud and dedicated educator for nearly 30 years. She was a member of Diversified Study Club, Book Club, Couples and Girls Bridge Clubs, and Junior Women's Club. She was passionate about reading and had a love for travel. . Her sons and their families had recently gathered with her to celebrate her 80th birthday (August 3rd.)

Patricia was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Frederick L. Conrad

She is survived by her four sons: Frederick L. Conrad, Jr. and wife, Louise; Robert Hoyle Conrad and wife, Mikki; Michael James Conrad and wife, Becky; and Scott Alan Conrad and wife, Shari; as well as by her thirteen grandchildren: Louise and husband David; Trip and wife Kitty; John; Rob Jr.; Matthew; Allison; Katy and husband Daniel; Morgan; Natalie; Michael; Jackson; Kevin; and Kyle as well as three great-grandchildren: Michael David; Sam; and Luke. She loved baseball and was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan until they abandoned their fans for California, and a loyal Orange-Blooded Tennessee Volunteer fan her entire life.

A memorial service will be held on October 21, 2017 at the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church in Kingsport, TN at 11:00am. Following the memorial service the family will be available to visit with friends. Some orange attire is welcomed and encouraged however please limit the crimson. In lieu of flowers, Pat's expressed wish was for donations to a charity of your choice or Habitat for Humanity, 750 E. Main St., Kingsport, TN 37660, American Cancer Society, 871 N.
