Patsy Murrell

Patsy Murrell, 89, of Norfolk, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, after a brief period of decline. Her final days were quiet and peaceful. Patsy will be remembered for her kind soul and cheeky attitude that kept those close to her on their toes. Raised in Catholic Church, her life was devoted to the pursuit of the Mother Mary and her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her spirit has left us but her memory will be carried on by the ones who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Peggy Cannon; daughter, Barbara Simmons; sisters, Marie O’Brien, Jean Musick, Mickey Doughtery; and brother, Joe Cannon.

Patsy is survived by her son, Charles Murrell; grandchildren, Patty Clark and husband Bill, Tammy Fockler and husband Dave; great-grandchildren, Chloe Clark, Alex, Kady, and Brie Fockler; sisters, Ann Gelardi and Theresa Morton; brother, John Cannon and wife Ila Ann; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church. The funeral mass will follow at 2 p.m. with Father Emanuel officiating.

An inurnment will be at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2022, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church Columbarium.
