Patrick Gene Smith

Patrick Gene Smith, 51, Athens, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008, at his home of an apparent heart attack.

He was born in Kingsport and had resided in Athens for the past 26 years. Patrick was of the Presbyterian faith.

Preceding him in death were his father, Rondal Allen Smith; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Smith; maternal grandparents, Luster and Andrell Hamilton; and paternal grandparents, Kyle and Mae Smith.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Jean H. Smith of Kingsport; a daughter, Zoe Jean Smith, Etowah, TN; and a brother, Richard Smith of Gainesboro, TN.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gray Cemetery in Gray, Tennessee, with Rev. Charles Echols officiating.
