Paul Rundquist, 51, of Mt. Carmel, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Born in Champagne, IL on March 16, 1964, a son of Doris A. and David E. Rundquist, Sr., of Flat Rock, NC, he had resided in this area for the last 2 years, moving from Spartanburg, SC. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991 with a Doctorate in Chemistry. Paul had been employed by Eastman Chemical for 12 years. He was a man of few interests, but was passionate about those interests especially his family.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife of 26 years, Helen Rundquist; daughter, Allison E. Rundquist of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Jeanne R. Adamek and husband, Helmut of Vienna, Austria; brother, David E. Rundquist, Jr. and wife, Judy of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Susan M. Rundquist of Greenville, SC; two nieces, one nephew, and six grand-nephews; and his pets Sophie and Precious.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-6:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with words of comfort and a committal prayer to follow by Father Michael Cummins.
