Paul Tuck Brown, 86, died at Hospice House in Bristol, Tennessee, at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007.
He was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, served four years in the Coast Guard during World War II -- mostly in the South Pacific area, and served on Fort Smith, Arkansas City Police Force for 20 years. Mr. Brown was Circuit Court Clerk in Fort Smith for six years and has lived in Kingsport for 10 ½ years. Paul was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church and attended regularly as long as his health permitted. He especially enjoyed his Sunday School Class.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John Henry Brown and Gertrude Tuck Brown; four brothers, Horace, Houghston, Fred, and Brian Brown; a sister, Gladys Brown Hill; and his first wife, Pearl Brown.
Surviving are his wife, Cleo Cox Brown; a daughter, Tina Brown; sisters-in-law, Grace and Margaret Brown, Kay Adams, and Ara Tess and husband, Ron; a brother-in-law, Kyle Greene and wife, Betty; two special nephews, David and Harold Brown; five other nephews, three nieces; numerous great nieces and nephews; numerous great-great nieces and nephews; and his extended family, Dannie and Jan Jones, and Marilyn Duncan.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, followed by services at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. Roc Collins and Brother Mike Morgan officiating.
Pallbearers will be all members of his Sunday School Class. The body will be taken to Fort Smith, Arkansas, for a service on Saturday. Burial will be in Fort Smith National Cemetery.
