Paul Manuel Haynes

Paul Manuel Haynes, 78, of Mount Carmel, went to be with Jesus on Friday, July 30, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Scott County, he has been a resident of East Tennessee most of his life and retired from Eastman Kodak following 26 years of service.

Paul was a member of Hiltons Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. He also worked with Helping Hands Food Bank.

He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

His parents, Clyde and Hazel Haynes preceded him in death.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 57½ years, Clara McCracken Haynes; daughter, Linda Ray and husband, Jackie of Church Hill; two sons, Pastor Tommy Haynes and wife, Wanda of Church Hill and David Haynes and wife, Loretta of Mount Carmel; five grandchildren, Patricia Seaver and husband, Chad of Knoxville, Tonya Wright and husband, Adam of Kingsport, Tracey Baker and husband Todd of Hiltons, Cassandra Haynes of Kingsport and very special grandson, Aaron Haynes; step granddaughter, Jessica Brooks and husband Dana of Surgoinsville; two step-grandsons; three great-grandchildren, Alex and Evan Seaver of Knoxville and Ethan Charles Repass of Kingsport; step-great-granddaughter, Dannica Brooks of Surgoinsville; three sisters, Ruby Arnold and husband, Ken of Mount Carmel, Dorothy Young and husband, Russ of Abingdon, and Faye Higgins and husband, Bill of Indiana; two brothers, Charlie Haynes and wife, Betty and Leonard Haynes, all of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks is extended to the Kingsport Hematology and Oncology; Dr. Robert Funke and staff; and Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Marvin Lane, Pastor Randy Cleek, and Pastor Tommy Haynes officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Church Hill Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Haynes, Chad Seaver, Adam Wright, Randall Jones, Mark Peters, Todd Baker, Wayne Phelps, and Dana Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class of Hiltons Missionary Baptist Church.

Memorials may be given to the Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, TN 37620.
