Paul Wayne Jones Sr., 59, Kingsport, passed away February 1, 2007, after a courageous fight with cancer.
He served two tours in Vietnam with the U. S. Army and was a life member of Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
Paul loved the outdoors ? was an avid deer hunter, camper, fisherman, and boatman. He also loved going to his VFW Post and shooting pool with friends and his son.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Jeff and Effie Justice; paternal grandparents, Robert and Della Jones; his father, Ernest Jones; and a daughter, Karen Dawn Jones.
Surviving are his mother, Audrey Jean Jones; his soul mate, Patricia Crawford, Kingsport; one daughter, Chanda Lee Lawson, Kingsport; three sons, Paul Wayne Jones, Jr. and wife, Gina, Anthony Scott Jones, and Mark Allen Jones, all of Kingsport; five grandchildren, Chelsea Lawson, Kayla Lawson, Anthony Scott Jones Jr., Nicholas Jones, and Emily Jones; stepchildren, Misty Williams, Angela Calhoun, Travis Crawford, and Charles Randy Light; step-grandchildren, Terry Calhoun, Trayvond Williams, Tytiania Williams, Trengual Williams, Harley Crawford, Jennifer Crawford, Kayleigh Crawford, and Bronson Light; three sisters, Barbara Frazier and husband, Jerry, Linda Martin, and Brenda Sue Martin and husband, Frank; one brother, David Leon Jones and wife, Dana; his adopted sister, Misty Jones; several nieces and nephews; and special friends and caregivers, Jerry Churchwell, Sharon Compton, Johnnie Sutherland, and Ray Bishop.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor J. W. Depew officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Glen Cemetery in Fall Branch, Tennessee, with military rites by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
Members of the VFW will serve as pallbearers.
