Paul Thomas Lyon

Paul Thomas Lyon, 83, went to be with the Lord Tuesday May 5 following a brief illness at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was a member of Morrison City Christian Church where he was one of the original deacons and served on the Building Maintenance Committee. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #688. After 41 years of service he retired from Tennessee Eastman, spending most of those years in the Tenite Division. He was a master builder, craftsman and gardener. If he could visualize it, he could build it; if he could take it apart, he could fix it.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry R. and Bertie C. Lyon, brothers Robert, Ralph, Bailey, and little Gene, sister Lovely Marie Solomon and his beloved son David Anthony Lyon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Dolphine Penley Lyon, his children Reta and Don Cooper, Blountville, Mike and Suzanne Lyon, Kingsport, Claudi Lyon, Dalton, Georgia, Lyla and Warren Anderson, Kingsport, Cindy and Don Fluce, Kingsport; his grandchildren Cheyanne and Mike Hill, Jonesborough, Melissa and John Memoli, Alexandria, Virginia, Amy and Bryant Pickney, Knoxville, James Lyon, Charlotte, North Carolina, Rachel Anderson, Kingsport, Travis Lyon, Kingsport, Samantha Fluce, Kingsport, Stephanie Fluce, Kingsport, and Elliot Fluce, Kingsport; his great grandchildren Jackson Michael Hill, Anna Paxton Hill, Dominic Cooper Memoli, and Harper Pickney; his sister Betty Boyer; his sister-in-law Jeanette Penley; several nieces and nephews; his companions sheltie Ellie Blue and calico cat Bailey.

The family would like to thank Wellmont Hospice, especially Misty Venett and Dr. Robert Funke.

Calling hours are 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Morrison City Christian Church.

Services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church with ministers Bob Underwood and Jerry Williams officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers are James Lyon, Travis Lyon, Elliot Fluce, Mike Hill, John Memoli, Bryant Pickney, Bart Rowlett, and David Weinhold. Honorary pallbearers are Jackson Michael Hill, Dominic Cooper Memoli, and Harper Pickney.

Special music by Adoration, Rachel Anderson, and David Reed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morrison City Christian Church, P. O. Box 4006, Kingsport, TN 37665 for the beautification of the sanctuary.
