Pauline Hite, 85, of Jonesborough walked arm in arm with Jesus August 1, 2011 after a lengthy illness at her home surrounded by family and friends.
She was a member of Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church and also she and her husband were co-founders of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. She had been a Sunday school teacher in years past and also always sang in the choir. She truly loved her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Junior Hite, her parents Luther and Etta Mae Barnett, sisters, Josephine Gooden and Ella Mae Drinnon.
Survivors include her two sons, William Bill Hite and wife Karen of Kingsport and Dennis Hite and wife Patricia of Jonesborough Two granddaughters, Lori Lea Collins and husband Mike of Gray, Natalie Smith and husband Brandon of Gray. One grandson, Brandon Hite of Jonesborough and wife to be Megan Sanders of Johnson City. Great grandchildren, Elizabeth Gott of Atlanta, Beth Smith of Johnson City, Billy and Keli Smith of Gray. Special friend and adopted member of the family Nora McCray of Jonesborough. Two sisters include Liz Jones of Kingsport, and Betty Crafton of Cliffy, KY. One brother, Thomas Bud Barnett of Kingsport. Special life long friends Earl and Hazel Christian of Gray, and several nieces and nephews.
Pauline will be missed by all who loved her, her laughter, her love of travel and her love of the Lady Vols. We love you mamaw.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday August 5, 2011 at Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Charlie Church and Reverend Kevin Rose officiating. Music will be provided by Robin Light and Teresa Whetsel.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Hite, Darrell Jackson, Preston Light, Fred Sawyer, Jim Reed and Larry Ryans. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Smith, Earl Christian and Thomas Barnett
