Pauline Smith Jones

Pauline Smith Jones, 89, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, following an extended illness at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Hawkins County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Cora Caldwell Smith. She was a charter member of Belmont Baptist Church and a charter member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, making quilts and loved flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Jones; brothers, Archie Smith, Allie Smith, and an infant brother; and sisters, Myrtle Clemons and Shirley Frazier.

Pauline is survived by two daughters, Janet Lane of Johnson City and Krista Jones, of Kingsport; son, Lance Jones and wife, Judy of Church Hill; three grandchildren, Cindy Snyder and husband, Anthony, Valerie Lane, and Traci Wilber and husband, James; five great-grandchildren, Jessica Lane, Dylan Duncan, Emma Wilber, Ella Kate Wilber, and Eliza Wilber; two brothers, Pastor Lyons Smith and wife, Sharon, and Gerald Smith and wife, Priscilla; sister, Lois Patterson and husband, Rev. John Patterson; sisters-in-law, Betty Lewis and Mildred Smith; and several nieces, and nephews, and special nephew, Colin Smith.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1-2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery in Church Hill.
